The name 'Corkbeard' dates way back to a tradition started when we were too young to even enjoy good wine.
It all started at a family gathering in which we were having ‘fancy meal’, which meant there was candles on the table and wine NOT from a box. At the end of the meal, we somehow felt the urge to burn the ends of the corks with a candle flame and began drawing beards on each other. Once we started, we never stopped. It was so much fun, the kids began looking forward to fancy wine nights just as much as the adults.
And there it was, the beginnings of the tradition of the ‘Corkbeard’. This would continue at family dinners and holidays for years. And when we were old enough to start enjoying good wine (at least we thought it was good), the tradition carried on with both friends and family.
We certainly don’t wait for a ‘fancy meal' anymore. All you need to do is burn that first cork at any gathering with family, friends, or even strangers – and the fun will take care of itself.
It’s also a great addition to other games you may play with your crew.
It's real simple: just a wine glass
and a Corkbeard. Says it all.
